Samuel had been sidelined with a hairline shoulder fracture sustained on October 15 against the Cleveland Browns, causing him to miss the last two games. However, he participated in Monday's bonus practice following the bye week, indicating his readiness for this weekend's showdown against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Addressing the timeline for his recovery, Samuel noted, "They told me, like two, three, four weeks, whatever, however my body was going to react to it, and I think my body reacted very great to it."
Meanwhile, tackle Trent Williams also suffered a low-ankle sprain in the same game, causing him to also miss the last two matchups. Samuel playfully responded when asked about Williams' status, "I don't know. You'll just have to see."
The 49ers faced challenges without Samuel and Williams, resulting in a winless streak. The team is now looking to regroup and turn things around in the upcoming game against the Jaguars.
"We just got to do the things that we do well," Samuel emphasized. "We got to get turnovers, we got to get off the field, we got to sustain drives. And overall, I think, feeding off what [head coach] Kyle [Shanahan] said, I think the team was just fatigued from how long we was going, and the bye week came at a great time.
"And so overall, I'm just saying we got to do what we do, play the ball that the Niners play."
