Guard Aaron Banks is set to sit out for a few weeks due to a turf toe injury. Of course, that timeline is just an estimation.
"Yeah, with turf toe, you never know," Shanahan said. "So they told me it should be a few weeks, is what I got here. I know that's a little vague, but I would say that means at least three weeks.
"I know I was told he did it on the second to last drive. I haven't gotten to speak with him personally, so I'm not sure which play it was on, but he didn't report it until after."
Dre Greenlaw is dealing with a shoulder strain and is considered day-to-day.
"I know it was bothering him," Shanahan said of his linebacker. "It's been bothering him for a couple of weeks, and I just know that it got worse during the game."
As for Brock Purdy, who recently cleared concussion protocol, Shanahan assured reporters that the quarterback emerged unscathed from Sunday's game. There was concern when Purdy's head hit the field after being tackled by a Bengals defender late in the game.
Watching the game tape even caused Shanahan some initial concern, but the coach added, "But just talking to him after the game and talking to him today, it's been totally fine."
Shanahan also provided an update on tackle Trent Williams, who is expected to return after the bye week, barring any setbacks to his ankle injury. The coach noted that the team didn't anticipate the offensive lineman playing against the Bengals after a lack of noticeable improvement on Saturday.
"Thought he was going to be good, but he wasn't," Shanahan said. "And hopefully, he'll have a good week, this week, of rehab and be ready to go when we come back for practice next Monday."
