The NFL has named McCaffrey the NFC Offensive Player of the Month for September, the running back's second such honor since joining the 49ers via a trade last season. He was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Month for December of 2022.
McCaffrey was also named the NFC Offensive Player of the Month for September of 2019 while with the Carolina Panthers.
In addition to his 353 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns, McCaffrey has 11 receptions for 70 yards. He has amassed 453 scrimmage yards.
Since Week 13 of the 2022 season, McCaffrey has scored a touchdown in 12 straight games, including the postseason. With a touchdown against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, it will be the fourth time since 1990 that an NFL player has recorded a touchdown in 13 consecutive games, including the postseason (Emmitt Smith - 14 from 1995-1996, Arian Foster - 13 from 2011-2012, Emmitt Smith - 13 from 1994-1995).
McCaffrey becomes the second 49ers player ever to earn Offensive Player of the Month honors multiple times, joining Steve Young, a six-time winner, per NFL Communications. He surpasses John Elway and Andrew Luck with the most Player of the Month honors by a former Stanford player.
