With his victory, McCaffrey joins Derrick Henry, Josh Jacobs, Dalvin Cook, and Rashaad Penny as the only active players with back-to-back FedEx Ground Player of the Week victories in their careers.
McCaffrey rushed for 116 yards on 20 carries (5.8-yard average) and a rushing touchdown in Week 2's win over the Los Angeles Rams, and his 268 rushing yards through the first two weeks of the season lead the NFL by an 88-yard margin.
McCaffrey beat out Raheem Mostert of the Miami Dolphins, who had 121 rushing yards on 18 carries (6.7 average) and two touchdowns in Week 2, and D'Andre Swift of the Philadelphia Eagles, who rushed for 175 yards and a touchdown on 28 attempts (6.3 average).
FedEx gives fans the opportunity to recognize weekly top-performing quarterbacks and running backs in games played on Thursday through Sunday through the FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week Awards.
By winning the FedEx Ground NFL Player of the Week Award, FedEx will make a $2,000 donation in McCaffrey's name to a Historically Black College or University (HBCU), which will be applied towards needs-based scholarships to deserving HBCU students.
