With the move, the 49ers now have $41.5 million in cap space, which is the most in the NFL, even after signing defensive end Nick Bosa to a massive five-year extension.
Just earlier this week, the 49ers created over $23 million in cap space by restructuring George Kittle and Arik Armstead before signing Bosa to his deal, which could even add more cap space to the mix if the defensive end's Year 1 cap hit is lower than his current $17.859 cap hit for 2023.
Now, the 49ers could be posturing for a potential move, via the trade market or free agency, or could be looking to push money back and carry it over into 2024, when they'll be facing several key decisions with some of their top personnel.
The 49ers have now restructured Armstead, Kittle, Williams, Fred Warner, Christian McCaffrey, and Charvarius Ward this offseason.
Are the 49ers done, or are even more restructures occurring this offseason?
