According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 in Houston, Central Michigan tight end Joel Wilson is visiting with the San Francisco 49ers today.

Wilson (6-3, 242) registered a career-high 44 receptions for 445 yards and six touchdowns through nine game appearances as a senior in 2022, per Sports Reference. He caught 82 passes for 874 yards with 12 touchdowns over the past two seasons with the Chippewas.

Wilson is from Petoskey, MI. He earned a pre-draft grade of 5.62 from NFL.com, which equates to a "chance to make a roster or practice squad," per the site's 8-point grading scale.

"Wilson doesn't have the play strength or technique of a Y tight end and might not have the speed to threaten the seam as a pass-catching option, but it is still easy to like his game," wrote Lance Zierlein of NFL.com within his scouting report. "He's clever as a route-runner and shows an ability to create separation with decent success underneath, but he must become even more competitive on contested catches. Wilson's run blocking needs work, but he's willing and will have potential in that area if he can get much stronger."
