Boykin registered a career-high 58 tackles, two tackles for a loss, a sack, eight passes defensed, two interceptions, and a forced fumble through 11 game appearances as a senior in 2022, per Sports Reference.
Boykin was a second-team All-Sun Belt Conference selection as a senior. His eight pass breakups led the team and his two interceptions tied for the team lead. The defender recorded 82 tackles, 3.5 tackles for a loss, two sacks, 12 passes defensed, five interceptions, and a forced fumble through the past two seasons with the Chanticleers, after transferring from Old Dominion.
Boykin is from High Point, NC. He earned a pre-draft grade of 5.67 from NFL.com, which equates to a "chance to make a roster or practice squad," per the site's 8-point grading scale.
At the NFL Scouting Combine, the 6-2 and 200-pound Boykin had a broad jump of 124 inches and 13 reps in the bench press. His other measurables include an arm length of 32 3/8 inches and hands measuring 9 3/4 inches.
Boykin had a 40-time of 4.72 seconds, a vertical jump of 30.50 inches, and a 20-yard shuttle time of 4.39 seconds at his personal Pro Day.
"Long-legged, linear cornerback with the size and length to disrupt the catch point, but he lacks the athletic fluidity and short-area twitch to get there on time," wrote Lance Zierlein of NFL.com in his draft profile of the player. "Boykin will struggle to stay connected with NFL route runners as a man defender and lacks the desired long speed to prevent burners from flying by him. He'll need to play in a zone-based cover scheme and has the physical traits that could have teams trying him as a safety."
