Former 49ers right tackle Mike McGlinchey, now with the Denver Broncos, played 1,038 snaps during the 2022 season. Pryor isn't even guaranteed a starting job. The 49ers have indicated that the frontrunner to replace McGlinchey is Colton McKivitz, but that there will be a competition for that right tackle spot.
"Yeah, Colton's the guy right now," general manager John Lynch recently stated. "And we just signed Matt Pryor, who's a guy who's started some games in this league. But we like Colton. We have for a long time. And think Colton's confidence, that game he filled in for Trent Williams, went in there and did a really good job as a left tackle. He's been a good swing tackle."
OverTheCap.com has Pryor's contract details, which are broken down below.
2023
Base salary: $1,080,000
Workout bonus: $50,000
Salary-cap number: $990,000
OverTheCap.com currently lists the 49ers as $4,281,867 under the salary cap.
