The San Francisco 49ers recently signed offensive lineman Matt Pryor to a one-year deal worth $1.13 million. None of that money is fully guaranteed. However, the contract includes a playtime incentive. Pryor will earn a $102,500 bonus should he play a minimum of 50.2 percent of the snaps, per Aaron Wilson of KPRC2 in Houston.


Former 49ers right tackle Mike McGlinchey, now with the Denver Broncos, played 1,038 snaps during the 2022 season. Pryor isn't even guaranteed a starting job. The 49ers have indicated that the frontrunner to replace McGlinchey is Colton McKivitz, but that there will be a competition for that right tackle spot.


"Yeah, Colton's the guy right now," general manager John Lynch recently stated. "And we just signed Matt Pryor, who's a guy who's started some games in this league. But we like Colton. We have for a long time. And think Colton's confidence, that game he filled in for Trent Williams, went in there and did a really good job as a left tackle. He's been a good swing tackle."
