The game ended on an ugly note, as left tackle Trent Williams was ejected for throwing punches late in the 4th quarter.
Following the game, head coach Kyle Shanahan understood the frustrations that Williams had, given the physicality between the teams.
"You got two physical teams. Guys playing hard and I know we were frustrated at the end," said Shanahan. "Guys wanted to fight [and] wanted to play and it was a frustrating game for us."
While tight end George Kittle wasn't involved in the melee, he was seen trying to break up the fight, as he didn't want his teammates fined or ejected, which unfortunately will happen with Williams.
"I just heard teammates obviously pissed off, maybe fighting through the whistle [and] being violent through the whistle," Kittle said. "They didn't like it. I'm all for [doing] whatever you got to do, but I don't want my guys to get fined or kicked out of a football game."
Kittle jokingly added how fighting Williams is a losing battle for anyone, lightening the mood after a disappointing loss.
"I don't want Trent to fight anybody because that's probably scary for them," he said. "Just [wanted] to make sure he [was] kept in the game and didn't lose any money."
Now, the 49ers' focus goes toward the offseason, where they'll have a number of questions regarding personnel, coaches, and potentially even executives.
