San Francisco swept the Seahawks during the regular season on the way to the NFC West title. The upcoming playoff game will be the 50th meeting all-time between the two teams.
The 49ers finished the regular season with a 13-4 record and the No. 2 seed in the NFC playoffs after their 38-13 rout of the Arizona Cardinals at Levi's Stadium. San Francisco couldn't secure the No. 1 seed because the Philadelphia Eagles beat the New York Giants.
This is San Francisco's third playoff appearance in the past four seasons. The team made it one game short of another Super Bowl appearance last season, losing 20-17 to the Los Angeles Rams in the NFC Championship Game.
