San Francisco 49ers defensive end Nick Bosa recorded 15.5 sacks last season, then a career-high. The talented pass rusher matched that mark against the Seattle Seahawks, bringing down quarterback Geno Smith. On Saturday, Bosa recorded two more sacks against the Washington Commanders, bringing his season total to 17.5.

Here is sack number 15.5 against Seattle. It came in the third quarter with the 49ers up 21-3.



Here is sack number 16.5, which came in the second quarterback against Commanders quarterback Taylor Heinicke. San Francisco led 7-0 at the time. However, Washington tied the game a few plays later.


And here is sack number 17.5, with the 49ers leading 24-14.


Bosa brought down quarterback Carson Wentz late in the game, but it was on a two-point conversation by Washington, which does not count toward his sack total.

San Francisco still has two more regular-season games remaining on its schedule after this weekend's action. The team record is 19.5 sacks, achieved by Aldon Smith in 2012.

Bosa is in his fourth NFL season. In April, the 49ers exercised the defensive end's fifth-year option, which means Bosa isn't scheduled to become a free agent until 2024. The team would love to lock up the NFL's best pass rusher to a long-term contract before that happens.
