There were no big surprises with the list of players who didn't practice on Tuesday. Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo is likely done for the season. Defensive linemen Kevin Givens, Kerry Hyder, and wide receiver Deebo Samuel are expected to miss time.
Quarterback Brock Purdy was among the players who were limited participants on Tuesday. He played through oblique and rib injuries last week against the Seattle Seattle Seahawks.
"I think he's in a good spot," Shanahan said of his rookie quarterback. "He's better right now than he was last week, going into the game. But he's still going to be somewhat limited today."
It's worth noting that Purdy was seen throwing the football at practice, something he did not do at all last week.
Defensive end Arik Armstead and running back Christian McCaffrey were also limited, as was cornerback Charvarius Ward, who reported to the team last Friday exhibiting concussion symptoms.
The 49ers also opened the practice windows for defensive linemen Javon Kinlaw and Kalia Davis. Davis practiced on Tuesday, while Kinlaw is expected to join his teammates for Wednesday's session.
Cornerback Samuel Womack was a full participant after being inactive against the Seahawks due to a concussion.
Below are Tuesday's practice participation reports for both the 49ers and Commanders, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.
