Below are the 49ers-related in-game injury updates.
DT Kevin Givens (knee, questionable)
Defensive tackle Kevin Givens went down on the third defensive snap of the game. He walked off the field slowly before heading into the blue medical tent for further evaluation.
Givens appeared to be favoring his right leg and was eventually carted to the locker room. The 49ers later announced that the defensive lineman is "questionable" to return due to a knee injury.
WR Deebo Samuel (ankle, out)
Wide receiver Deebo Samuel went down late in the second quarter with the 49ers up 21-0. He looked in considerable pain after fumbling the football while rushing up the middle for a three-yard gain. Buccaneers linebacker Anthony Nelson made the tackle, and Bucs linebacker Lavonte David recovered the football.
Samuel tried to get up on his own but couldn't. The wide receiver was emotional as he was carted off the field and taken to the locker room for further evaluation.
San Francisco announced that Samuel is "questionable" to return due to a knee injury.
Later, FOX sideline reporter Erin Andrews said she spoke with head coach Kyle Shanahan, who told her that Samuel would not return to the game. He has been ruled out with an ankle injury, not a knee injury.
Jordan Schultz of The Score reports that the team is optimistic about Samuel. The 49ers don't believe their star player suffered a serious injury.
After the game, head coach Kyle Shanahan confirmed that Samuel did not sustain an ankle fracture, which is really good news for the receiver. Instead, the belief is that Samuel "most likely" suffered a high-ankle sprain.
DB Dontae Johnson (knee, out)
Defensive back Dontae Johnson went down on special teams late in the second quarter. He walked to the locker room under his own power. The 49ers later ruled him out due to a knee injury.
The 49ers elevated Johnson from the practice squad on Saturday.
CB Samuel Womack (concussion)
In the third quarter, the 49ers announced that rookie cornerback Samuel Womack is being evaluated for a concussion.
DL Kerry Hyder Jr. (ankle, questionable)
Defensive lineman Kerry Hyder, filling in for Givens, went down in the fourth quarter after rain started pouring down on Levi's Stadium. He was helped off the field and headed straight for the blue medical tent.
The 49ers announced that Hyder is "questionable" to return due to an ankle injury.
QB Brock Purdy (oblique)
After the game, Shanahan said that his rookie quarterback, Brock Purdy, sustained an oblique injury. However, he was able to play through it. The coach didn't sound too concerned.
