The 49ers coach confirmed the ESPN report during his regular day-after-the-game conference call. Moseley will undergo season-ending knee surgery to repair the damage.
"I think, as you guys saw, E-man tore his ACL," Shanahan told reporters.
As for the other injuries from the game, in his first action back from the injured reserve list, safety Jimmie Ward sustained a broken hand. He will have surgery on Tuesday.
"We'll have an update after his surgery on how much time he'll miss," Shanahan said.
The coach added, "It happened on the opening kickoff. He did it on the first kickoff, and in Jimmie Ward style, he just truly didn't want to accept that it was broken, so he stayed in there for the next play—a couple of plays. Then he finally realized it was [broken]. ... It's just unfortunate. Hopefully, the surgery will go well, and he'll be able to come back and help us. It's just a bad break that he got."
Defensive end Nick Bosa exited in the third quarter due to a groin injury and did not return.
"We'll re-evaluate him on Wednesday when we start to practice," Shanahan said.
Kicker Robbie Gould suffered a knee contusion in the third quarter after making a tackle on special teams. He did not return.
"He has some swelling," Shanahan noted. "We'll see how it goes throughout the week. We're working out some kickers tomorrow, just in case."
Shanahan added that cornerback Deommodore Lenoir suffered a wrist injury while running back Jeff Wilson Jr. sustained a shoulder contusion. Both should be fine, though.
