(Episode 176) - The fellas have had a few days to digest Monday's win vs. the LA Rams at home. They discuss how phenomenal the defense has been before shifting the discussion to how their preseason expectations for the 49ers have changed. They talk about how this was supposed to be a developmental year of sorts with Trey Lance and how, now that Jimmy G is the starting QB, they have a lot more pressure to win now and make a run at the Super Bowl. With this in mind, they run through the 49ers' upcoming schedule and give updated predictions for every game left and what they believe their record will be at the end of the year.
Next, the guys revisit the topic of standout defensive players from Monday's victory over the Rams. They give some updates on their defensive leaders like Nick Bosa and Charvarious Ward, Emmanuel Mosley, and Tashaun Gipson. They also bring up the fact that Jimmie Ward and Jason Verrett are coming back from injuries. They compare this defense to the Harbaugh years and highlight how this improved secondary is the biggest difference. They then move on to the offense. They talk about George Kittle's bizarre lack of productivity in the passing game and how his involvement may change going forward.
The guys give their game predictions. They run through the 49ers' last matchup with the Panthers as well as their last matchup with Baker Mayfield when he was on the Browns. Both of those games were blowouts, and the guys foresee a similar result this Sunday unless Jimmy has a ton of turnovers. They talk about how awful Mayfield has been this year. They do not think the offense will be fully "back" this week, but they do see George Kittle having a big game and the run game and Jeff Wilson getting going. They predict the 49ers will score in the 20s and the Browns will not crack 13 points. Lastly, they touch on Ray-Ray McCloud's fumble issues and how he is starting to really scare them.
