The San Francisco 49ers ramped up their activity on Day 11 of Training Camp, re-incorporating a variety of 1-on-1s, team drills, move-the-ball periods, and 2-minute drills.

Defense


Defensive Line

After a rest day last week, the entirety of the starters on the defensive line were back on the field today, with Samson Ebukam and Nick Bosa returning to the fold alongside Kevin Givens and Javon Kinlaw.

1-on-1s returned on Tuesday, and defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw was briefly in the fold, successfully beating Aaron Banks with a long-arm, which was the technique he used early last week to be a disruptor on a pass play.

Kinlaw's ramp up continues, as the former first-round selection played in a majority of the first-team defensive snaps once again.


Defensive tackle Kevin Givens continues to look good, stuffing a screen for a loss, which hasn't been his main highlights during training camp.

Charles Omenihu had a nice play, breaking up a pass at the line of scrimmage on a Nate Sudfeld play to the flat.

Drake Jackson, who hasn't flashed much in 1-on-1s despite his elite traits, had a nice run stuff on the day as well.

While Jackson is still raw as a pass-rusher with his technique, his pure traits and ability to win with speed on the edge should help him see some action as a rookie.

Kemoko Turay continues to turn eyes with his pass-rushing moves, as he's utilized a swift spin move to the inside to consistently beat offensive linemen in 1-on-1s.


In other news, defensive end Jordan Willis continues to flash in the run game, stopping a Trey Lance zone-read in the backfield for a loss of two.

Overall, Willis has been one of the more consistent run-defenders in training camp, although that will be truly judged when tackling begins during the preseason.

Linebackers

Fred Warner had a good day on Tuesday, breaking up a Trey Lance checkdown intended for Kyle Juszczyk, while also nearly catching an interception on a poorly-lofted ball as the quarterback rolled out.

While he should've intercepted the latter pass, Warner continues to be one of the best coverage linebackers, consistently putting himself in the correct positions.


Apart from his play, there wasn't much new information from the linebacker position.

Cornerbacks

The 49ers were without Charvarius Ward and Emmanuel Moseley in team drills on Tuesday, as both are currently nursing injuries.

As a result, backup cornerbacks Deommodore Lenoir and Ambry Thomas started, which could be a primary factor as to why the 49ers starting offense had one of their best days of training camp.

Thomas continues to give up longer catches while playing in soft coverage, while Lenoir is close in coverage on certain instances, but ends up giving up catches at times too.


The cornerbacks gave up several catches of 15+ yards, as the defense failed to stop the first-team offense, especially on third downs.

However, a positive from the defense was their coverage in the redzone against the first-team offense.

The coverage held up, which resulted in a number of stalled plays and coverage sacks.

Additionally, on the final play of the 2-minute drill, with the first-team offense on the three-yard line, rookie cornerback Samuel Womack broke up a pass intended for Jauan Jennings that was slightly behind as time expired.

Charvarius Ward and Emmanuel Moseley are not expected to practice on Wednesday either as training camp concludes.


Safeties

While there was new information on a number of the positions, there wasn't much unfolding at the safety position that I could see.
