NBC Sports Bay Area reports that Shanahan and his staff won't even be in Indianapolis for the NFL Scouting Combine.
"The staff, including the new hires, will stay back in Santa Clara and evaluate the film of the prospects," wrote Matt Maiocco via Twitter. "SF's personnel department and scouts are in Indianapolis."
Shanahan had attended the NFL Scouting Combine each year since becoming the 49ers' head coach in 2017. However, his staff has seen significant turnover this offseason.
Shanahan lost two coordinators, Mike McDaniel (Dolphins head coach) and Richard Hightower (Bears special teams coordinator), along with his wide receivers coach Wes Welker (Dolphins receivers coach), quarterbacks coach Rich Scangarello (University of Kentucky offensive coordinator), and others.
Among those who will be in Indianapolis is 49ers general manager John Lynch. He is scheduled to speak to the media on Wednesday at 11:15 a.m. PT.
