This week, head coach Kyle Shanahan revealed that the right shoulder sprain no longer appeared on the injury reports he gets from the team's training and medical staff.
"I hear about the thumb more than the shoulder, so that's off the injury report now," Shanahan said on Wednesday. "So I guess we're good."
Garoppolo spoke with reporters after Friday's practice and was asked how his shoulder feels compared to last week.
"It feels great," the quarterback responded. "Yeah, arm's ready to roll."
Garoppolo was also asked about the torn ligament in his right thumb. How has it progressed since the initial injury?
"It feels great," Garoppolo repeated before laughing.
The quarterback didn't want to comment on another part of the reporter's question—whether or not he would require surgery after the season.
"I think we'll approach that after the season a little more," Garoppolo added. "But yeah, it's holding up for right now. It'll be alright."
