Nick Bosa is among three players listed as "questionable for the game. However, head coach Kyle Shanahan sounds optimistic that his impressive pass rusher will be available this weekend.
"We've got to put him on there because of the steps of the protocol, but it's looking good," Shanahan said.
Shanahan was also optimistic about cornerback Ambry Thomas, also "questionable." He is dealing with a bone bruise in his knee.
"I'm hoping he'll go," Shanahan said. "That's why we've got him as 'questionable.' I think he'll be alright, but that will come down to seeing how he is on game day."
Shanahan wouldn't reveal which cornerback—Josh Norman or Dontae Johnson—would start if Thomas cannot play.
Defensive end Jordan Willis has a chance to play despite suffering a high-ankle sprain against the Dallas Cowboys.
"He's had high-ankle sprains before," Shanahan said. "So the fact that he has a chance to go this week means it could be a little bit more of an old injury mixed with some new. So the fact that he has a chance makes me hope that it's a little bit more of the old.
"We'll see how he reacts on this plane ride and when we get out there because that doesn't usually help. So, we'll get him on his feet tomorrow in our walkthrough and stuff. But if he ends up playing, I think that kind of tells you it was a little bit more of an old injury."
It's worth noting that neither quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo (shoulder, thumb) nor linebacker Fred Warner (ankle) have a status designation, which means they are good to go for Saturday.
