Last Sunday, San Francisco received not one, not two, but three 90-yard performances from wide receivers—Brandon Aiyuk, who led the team with six catches for 107 yards, Deebo Samuel, who had four catches for 95 yards, and Jauan Jennings, who had six catches for 94 yards and two touchdowns, including the game-tying TD late in the 4th quarter.
Interestingly enough, it's the first time in franchise history that the feat of three 90+ yard performances from receivers has occurred in the same game, per Matt Barrows of the Athletic.
With the amount of top-tier talent at the receiver position in 49ers history, this feat is quite impressive from San Francisco's young trio, as everything clicked when the offense needed them most.
Now, is the feat likely to be accomplished once again when the 49ers face off against their longtime rival Dallas Cowboys this weekend? Likely not. But, it's a good sign that this San Francisco offense is meshing at the right time, especially with their 7-2 record to finish the season. There might not be a team in football who is hotter than the 49ers.
With a dynamic arsenal of weapons, the 49ers are well-equipped and relatively healthy heading into their first playoff game in 2022, and will require another big time performance from their top receivers as they chase down a Super Bowl ring, especially if their running game can't deliver like it has all season.
