Nothing changed from what head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters before practice. The 49ers continue to be cautious with their quarterback, Jimmy Garoppolo. He was limited.
San Francisco had a trio of linebackers and a pair of safeties who were also limited, as was the team's punter.
Trent Williams did not practice. Although, the coach feels his veteran left tackle is improving after being inactive on Sunday due to an elbow injury. Running back Elijah Mitchell was also sidelined after racking up a team-leading 85 rushing yards against the Los Angeles Rams in the regular-season finale.
"Yeah, Elijah's in the same boat he was in last week, on this Wednesday," Shanahan said. "And Trent is better today than he was on Sunday."
Williams told ESPN's Ed Werder that he intends to play on Sunday, even if that means doing so with a brace over his elbow.
Below are Wednesday's practice participation reports for both the 49ers and Cowboys, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.
