Samuel missed this past weekend's game against the Seattle Seahawks due to a groin strain. The third-year wideout did not practice on Wednesday or Thursday but got a good amount of work on Friday. After Friday's practice, he spoke with reporters and was asked how he felt.
"Feeling kinda good," Samuel answered. "Been working all week long, just playing it day by day, and that's what we're going to continue to do up until Sunday."
Samuel admits that missing the Week 13 game against the Seahawks was frustrating. He did not travel with his teammates and watched the game alone at home on television.
"Just being injured, period, is kind of frustrating, knowing what you bring to the team," Samuel shared.
The Seahawks won 30-23, ending the 49ers' three-game win streak. While it was frustrating for Samuel to watch, for the casual NFL fan, it was an exciting matchup that came down to the closing seconds of the game.
"Watching the game, it was probably one of the craziest games that I watched," Samuel admits. "Just sitting at home, I'm like, 'Alright, they turned the ball over. Alright, now we got to go down there and make a play.' ... It kind of felt like back and forth all game. But we've just got to put that behind us and just get ready for Sunday."
Samuel doesn't know the plan for this weekend. After Friday's practice, head coach Kyle Shanahan said the 49ers' medical staff would re-evaluate the wideout on Saturday.
"If they think he's good and don't feel like he'll reinjure it, then he'll be up on Sunday," Shanahan said.
