Linebacker Fred Warner was back on the practice field after not practicing last week and missing Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks due to a hamstring strain.
"One hundred percent," Warner responded when asked before practice how he feels.
Wide receiver Deebo Samuel, who also missed Sunday's game, didn't practice on Wednesday.
"I'm hoping he'll practice tomorrow," Shanahan noted.
Samuel, linebacker Dre Greenlaw, and defensive end Dee Ford were seen getting some work in on a side field. Shanahan also said he hopes Ford returns to practice on Thursday.
Running backs Elijah Mitchell and Trenton Cannon, who each suffered a concussion on Sunday, did not practice. Kyle Shanahan added that Mitchell, the team's leading rusher, is also dealing with a knee injury. However, the head coach noted that an MRI revealed no serious damage.
"I think they're calling it a knee irritation right now," Shanahan said.
Mitchell is considered day-to-day.
Did Shanahan feel that the forearm from Seahawks defensive end Darrell Taylor to Mitchell's head area was a "cheap shot" or "dirty hit"?
"Dirty, to me, usually [indicates] that someone had intent to hurt someone on it," Shanahan responded. "So that's why I don't really call it that way. I think it's third-and-one, and every inch matters, and guys are going hard. And [Taylor] came around from the side, and Elijah was in a vulnerable position, and the guy hit him in a tough spot. That's why I wouldn't say that's dirty on the guy because I don't think he's trying to do that."
