The Niners signed defensive end Chris Slayton, 25, to take Daniels' spot on the practice squad. The New York Giants made Slayton (6-4, 307) a seventh-round selection out of Syracuse in 2019. He also spent time with the Buffalo Bills, Atlanta Falcons, and Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Steelers released Slayton from their practice squad on November 2.
