Shanahan said the 49ers will be without safety Jaquiski Tartt for a few weeks. He sustained a bone bruise in his knee. That explains why San Francisco signed safety Tony Jefferson to the practice squad today.
Defensive end Dee Ford and linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair are both in the concussion protocol.
Quarterback Trey Lance is expected to return to practice on Wednesday. However, he will likely be limited. Shanahan added that there are no plans to move away from Jimmy Garoppolo as the 49ers' starting quarterback.
Shanahan was also asked about Trent Williams (ankle) and Javon Kinlaw (knee). Both were inactive for Sunday's game.
"Trent Williams, he's still day-to-day," Shanahan responded. "We're going to see how his ankle reacts. I was surprised we didn't get him [back] last week, which showed that the ankle has responded worse than we anticipated, so I can't make any assumptions this week. I'm hoping to get him [back] but that will be day-to-day with him.
"Kinlaw, no changes. He's still being evaluated with his knee, and hopefully, we can come to a decision this week on what we're going to do."
Shanahan said last week that Kinlaw is a candidate to land on injured reserve, which would force the second-year defensive tackle to miss a minimum of three games.
