Harris landed on injured reserve on September 1 due to a hamstring injury. San Francisco opened his practice window on September 29, the same day the team announced the signing of Skrine.
The 49ers initially claimed Harris (5-11, 200) off waivers from the Baltimore Ravens on August 17. The Cincinnati Bengals made the defensive back a fifth-round selection out of Illinois State in 2018. He registered 14 tackles, a pass defensed, and a forced fumble through 11 games between the Ravens and Denver Broncos last season.
The 26-year-old has recorded 50 tackles, four passes defensed, and a forced fumble through his three NFL seasons.
