Quick Takeaways
You may be wondering how Trey Lance graded out in his first NFL start. The rookie quarterback earned a respectable overall grade of 66.3 through his 65 snaps. For those curious, that's a higher grade than Jimmy Garoppolo earned in three of his four starts this season.
Tackle Trent Williams' 77.1 overall grade is his lowest of the season. Yet, he has still earned at least a top-three offensive grade among 49ers players in each of his five games, earning the highest grade this past weekend.
The highest overall grade in the game (49ers or Cardinals players) belongs to defensive lineman Arik Armstead. His 89.2 grade is by far his highest single-game grade of the season. Right behind him is Nick Bosa, who, aside from a dip in Week 2, has consistently impressed Pro Football Focus graders.
Earning the lowest grade of the game (49ers or Cardinals) was cornerback Josh Norman, who returned after missing a game due to a lung contusion. He was targeted seven times and gave up four receptions for 46 yards and a touchdown. Quarterback Kyler Murray owned a 116.7 passer rating while targeting Norman.
This past weekend's game marks just the second time this season that wide receiver Deebo Samuel (66.9) missed ranking among the 49ers' five highest-graded offensive players.
