The Seattle Seahawks became the first NFC West to lose a game, falling to the Tennessee Titans 33-30 in Week 2. The Los Angeles Rams beat the Indianapolis Colts 27-24 and the Arizona Cardinals edged the Minnesota Vikings 34-33.
There is a three-way tie for the division lead, proving what many believed—that the NFC West would likely be the most competitive division this season.
"NFC West, we've got a lot of [good players] out there," the 49ers' All-Pro tight end, George Kittle, recently said. "The Cardinals got Kyler Murray, DeAndre Hopkins. You've got Chandler Jones, Budda Baker. The Rams have Aaron Donald. That's pretty good by itself. And the Seahawks are always just bringing it with Russell Wilson. So you've got guys everywhere."
Kittle did feel his squad holds an advantage over its division rivals, though.
"But at the end of the day, they've got to go against our defense in Nick Bosa and Arik Armstead and Fred Warner," Kittle added. "We have a lot of guys who can make a lot of plays, and I think our offense is going to continue to keep rolling.
"The one thing that we do better than I think anyone else in our division is run the damn ball. That's what we're going to continue to do and be violent, be physical every single week."
The 49ers host the Green Bay Packers next weekend before beginning in-division play with back-to-back matchups against the Seahawks at Levi's Stadium and the Cardinals at State Farm Stadium.
