Lynch, a former commentator himself, "was impressed" by Shanahan's energy during the event, as the group shared a laugh.
That was a highlight of the Shanahan's offseason, as it was one of the first times being around a group of fans, and appreciated racer Jeff Gordon, a longtime 49ers fan.
Shanahan looked forward to the experience prior to the race, as it was his first ever NASCAR event.
"I am excited and honored to be the Grand Marshal for the Toyota/Save Mart 350 this weekend," said Shanahan. "This will be my first NASCAR event, and I'm thrilled that I get to share this amazing experience with my family. I can't wait to fire up a field of NASCAR stock cars."
Shanahan certainly brought the energy during his pre-race speech, which caught the eye of many in the media.
