On Monday, when the Julio Jones trade saga started to unfold, according to FanDuel and DraftKings, the 49ers were ranked fourth and tied for fifth, respectively, for the best odds to land the receiver.
In its rankings, FanDuel lists the Atlanta Falcons, New England Patriots, and Tennessee Titans ahead of the 49ers.
Draft Kings, meanwhile, ranks the Falcons, Patriots, Titans, and Los Angeles Chargers ahead of the 49ers, while the Baltimore Ravens and Indianapolis Colts shared the same odds as San Francisco.
BetOnline's new odds don't list the Atlanta Falcons, as expected, but feature a quick riser in the Miami Dolphins, who moved up to fourth in the odds, at +800, while the 49ers slid to fifth at +900 odds.
On Monday, Ian Rapoport announced that Jones had in fact requested a trade months ago, which the Falcons set out to honor, but demanded a first-round pick in return, which led to low demand due to the high asking price and many teams' lack of cap space to accommodate Jones' salary.
Will the Jones trade saga end soon, or will the disgruntled star remain on the Atlanta Falcons to begin the season? It seems unlikely that he remains on the team due to its lack of cap space, but it may need to eat some of Jones' contract.
Atlanta general manager Terry Fontenot and head coach Arthur Smith have a difficult decision to make on who to trade him to and for what In return.
