The word is that (socially-distanced) meeting times with NFL teams were doubled from typical years, giving Senior Bowl participants the advantage of extended sit-downs with potential suitors.
According to Melo, another player who had a "great meeting" with the 49ers — among other teams — was San Diego State cornerback Darren Hall.
Hall says that he met with all 32 NFL teams, but Hayes reportedly noted that the Los Angeles Rams were not present.
Hall recorded 134 tackles, 8.5 tackles for a loss, 3.5 sacks, six interceptions, 25 passes defensed, and three forced fumbles during his collegiate career with the Aztecs, per Sports Reference. He racked up 37 tackles, two tackles for a loss, three interceptions, and six passes defensed as a junior in 2020.
The 49ers may be looking to add both starters and depth to their secondary. Several players, including cornerbacks Richard Sherman, K'Waun Williams, and Jason Verrett, along with safety Jaquiski Tartt and other defensive backs, are slated to become free agents.
