Notre Dame defensive end Daelin Hayes met with all 31 NFL teams present at the Senior Bowl last week. The one exception was the Los Angeles Rams, who were not in attendance. Justin Melo of USA Today's Draft Wire reports that Hayes said he had "great meetings" with several teams, including the San Francisco 49ers.


Hayes recorded 97 tackles, 20.5 tackles for a loss, nine sacks, an interception, four passes defensed, and four forced fumbles over his collegiate career, per Sports Reference. He was one of six former Notre Dame players to participate in the Senior Bowl.


Hayes recorded 17 tackles, six tackles for a loss, three sacks, an interception, a pass defensed, and two forced fumbles through nine games as a senior. He checked in last week at 6-foot-3 and 261 pounds with a wingspan of 80 1/4 inches, an arm length of 32 inches, and a hand size of 9 1/2 inches.

The 49ers had losses along the defensive line last season. The team lost Nick Bosa for the season after the edge rusher suffered a torn ACL during Week 2. Veteran pass rusher Dee Ford missed all but one game due to neck and back injuries, and his future with the team remains uncertain.

Arik Armstead was healthy last season but recorded just 3.5 sacks after leading the team with 10 in 2019.
