Interestingly, the Detroit Lions are listed with the fifth-best odds to have Stafford for Week 1 despite team and quarterback mutually agreeing to part ways. Perhaps the Lions don't receive the types of offers they are likely hoping for and ultimately decide to keep Stafford.
Below are the teams with the 10 best odds of having Stafford on their rosters for Week 1 of the 2021 season, per Bovada.
- 49ers +325
- Broncos +450
- Colts +450
- Patriots +500
- Lions +550
- Washington +650
- Panthers +900
- Raiders +1000
- Rams +1100
- Texans +1200
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on Tuesday that teams have already started to reach out to the Lions to inquire about a potential trade for Stafford. Ian Rapoport added this morning on NFL Network that nearly a third of the teams in the league league have already picked up their phones and called the Lions. It's not inconceivable that the 49ers are among those teams.
Stafford will turn 33 years old on Super Bowl Sunday. He completed 339-of-528 attempts (64.2 percent) for 4,084 yards with 26 touchdowns and 10 interceptions through 16 games in 2020.
