Several players did not practice on Tuesday. Among them are cornerback Richard Sherman, who is day-to-day with a calf injury, and defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw, who is day-to-day with a knee injury. Others who are day-to-day are defensive end Dion Jordan (knee sprain) and safety Tarvarius Moore (knee sprain).
Head coach Kyle Shanahan informed reporters that three players, quarterback Nick Mullens, running back Raheem Mostert, and wide receiver Deebo Samuel, are done for the remainder of the season. Mullens may require surgery for the elbow injury he suffered during Sunday's loss to the Dallas Cowboys while Mostert re-aggravated his ankle injury. Samuel was only expected to return from his hamstring injury should the 49ers make the playoffs, which will not occur.
Safety Jimmie Ward is in the concussion protocol. Cornerback Jason Verrett returned to practice after missing Sunday's game due to an illness.
The 49ers opened the practice window for Jimmy Garoppolo (ankle). However, Shanahan doesn't expect the quarterback to play on Saturday, which means C.J. Beathard is likely to start. The coach also stated that there is a chance that tight end George Kittle (foot) returns to the football field against the Cardinals.
Below are Tuesday's practice participation reports for both the 49ers and Cardinals, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.
