McKinley is available again after failing to pass his physical.
The 49ers currently sit at No. 12 in the waiver wire order. Last week, both the Cleveland Browns and Las Vegas Raiders also put in claims. The Browns currently sit at No. 17 while the Raiders are at No. 26.
Will the 49ers pursue McKinley again? It certainly seems possible. Although, a failed physical might be a red flag.
The team is still in need of some pass-rushing help as injuries continue to decimate the once-deep roster. San Francisco has racked up just 18 sacks this season, which is tied for No. 20 in the league.
The Falcons drafted McKinley out of UCLA with the No. 26 overall pick in 2017. He has registered seven tackles, a sack, and a pass defensed through four games and 85 snaps this season.
