General manager John Lynch announced this morning during an interview on KNBR that Bourne would travel with the 49ers for the team's road game this weekend against the New Orleans Saints.
"The good news is he'll be traveling with us to New Orleans," Lynch said. "The challenge there, he's been out of the building since last Tuesday and been at home. ... He's been in quarantine. So, that's a challenge."
This was the second time Bourne has landed on the reserve/COVID-19 list. He missed last week's matchup against the Green Bay Packers after testing positive for the virus but was cleared the day after the game.
Added Lynch: "We're pretty lean [at receiver], so we're going to rely on Kendrick, hopefully, if everything works out until Sunday, that he'll be at least part of that rotation."
The fourth-year receiver has caught 25 passes for 352 receiving yards with a touchdown through eight games and four starts this season.
