The 49ers also officially activated tight end Jordan Reed off of injured reserve. He suffered an MCL sprain and ankle injury during Week 3.
San Francisco activated two wide receivers from its practice squad, including former Chicago Bears first-round pick Kevin White. They will join the team's two other available wide receivers — Trent Taylor and Richie James Jr.
The 49ers are short on players at the position after Kendrick Bourne tested positive for COVID-19. He was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list. Receivers Brandon Aiyuk and Deebo Samuel, and tackle Trent Williams, joined him after being identified as players who were in close contact with Bourne. Samuel, however, had already been ruled out for tonight's game.
Here are the other roster moves announced today:
- OL Tony Bergstrom and RB Austin Walter have been activated from the practice squad.
- WR River Cracraft, S Johnathan Cyprien, TE Daniel Helm, and WR Kevin White have been activated from the practice squad as COVID-19 replacements.
- DL Josiah Coatney has been signed to the practice squad.
- WR Chris Finke has been released from the practice squad.
