The statuses of San Francisco 49ers players, coaches, and staff remain in the media spotlight after wide receiver Kendrick Bourne tested positive for COVID-19, forcing the team to close its facilities.

The 49ers are working remotely on Wednesday as the team continues to prepare for its game against the Green Bay Packers, which remains scheduled for Thursday night.



According to NBC Sports Bay Area, the good news is that all other 49ers players' COVID-19 tests have returned negative.


The team continues to work with the NFL on contact tracing to see how many others might have been exposed to Bourne this week. San Francisco held an evening practice inside Levi's Stadium on Tuesday, so we still await word on the contact tracing results.

Bourne and any players or staff who may have been in close contact with the receiver will not be allowed to participate in Thursday night's game.

The Packers had COVID-19-related issues of their own this week. Multiple players will miss Thursday's game after rookie running back A.J. Dillon tested positive this week for the virus. Running back Jamaal Williams and linebacker Kamal Martin, designated as "high-risk close-contact," will not play against the 49ers.
