Two of those players are more likely to return earlier than the other.
"I know all three of them have a chance," Shanahan told reporters after Friday's practice. "I think K'Waun and Tevin more than Jordan. Today was just a walkthrough, though, so I haven't gotten a chance to talk to the trainers. I'll talk to them more today, but hopefully, there's no setbacks, and we'll get at least two of them up. But I never know until I talk to the trainers."
The 49ers have until 1 p.m. PT on Saturday to activate any of the three players if the team wants them available for Sunday. The more likely scenario for Reed is that he will try to return for San Francisco's next game — a Thursday-night matchup against the Green Bay Packers.
"He's trending in the right direction," general manager John Lynch said of Reed on Friday morning. "Not necessarily speaking towards this weekend but in general. So, we're very encouraged. As for this weekend, I just don't know. I do know that he's surprised us how good he's looked out there this week."
