Head coach Kyle Shanahan was asked today if Tevin Coleman could return this week. The veteran running back has been on injured reserve with a knee injury since September 26.
"I hope so," Shanahan responded. "I'm not sure yet, though. I mean, I know he can't go today. I'd be surprised if he gets out there fully for Wednesday, but I think that will be a late-end-of-the-week decision."

Coleman is in his second year with San Francisco and rushed for 30 yards on 18 carries through two games this season. He also has three receptions for 34 yards.
The 49ers are also without running back Raheem Mostert, who was placed on injured reserve on Saturday due to a high-ankle sprain suffered during the team's Week 6 victory over the Los Angeles Rams.
The remaining healthy running backs on the active roster are Jerick McKinnon and JaMycal Hasty. The team also has Austin Walter on the practice squad.
