On Thursday, the Seahawks announced that there wouldn't be fans at CenturyLink Field on November 1 when Seattle hosts the San Francisco 49ers.

That could be a boost for the road-team 49ers, who won't have to play in the ordinarily hostile environment.

The undefeated Seahawks lead the NFC West with a 5-0 record while the 49ers sit at the bottom of the division at 3-3. The Bay Area team will travel to Gillette Stadium this weekend to face the New England Patriots as part of a two-game road trip that ends with its matchup in Seattle.

Meanwhile, Santa Clara County has declared that fans will not be allowed to attend professional sporting events "anytime soon." The announcement came after updated California guidelines that would have allowed Levi's Stadium to host fans at 20 percent capacity.
