Quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and running back Raheem Mostert (knee) were on the practice field for the second consecutive day. Safety Jimmie Ward returned after having some tests done on his wrist and missing Wednesday's practice.
Garoppolo has missed the last two games after suffering an ankle injury during Week 2 against the New York Jets. The 49ers hope to get him back in the lineup soon but will be cautious with his return.
"Hopefully, we get Jimmy back," general manager John Lynch said this week. "His ankle is responding well. You have to kind of think big-picture on these decisions."
Cornerback Emmanuel Moseley remains in the concussion protocol and did not practice while Ahkello Witherspoon reportedly looks good as he aims to return from a hamstring injury.
Wide receiver Deebo Samuel missed practice due to an illness. This past weekend was his first game back after suffering a Jones fracture in June.
Below are Thursday's practice participation reports for both the 49ers and Dolphins, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.
