Shanahan informed reporters after the game that Ansah will likely land on injured reserve with a biceps injury. The coach said that early indications were that the defender suffered a biceps tear. Ansah will undergo an MRI tomorrow to confirm the severity of the injury.
San Francisco added Ansah after losing second-year pass rusher Nick Bosa to a torn ACL. The team's veteran pass rusher, Dee Ford, was placed on injured reserve on Saturday due to a back injury. There is no timetable for his return.
Cornerback K'Waun Williams left the game in the fourth quarter after a collision with an Eagles player. He limped off the field under his own power, left for the team's locker room, and was listed as "questionable" to return. Shanahan said Williams suffered a knee sprain and the team will examine him further tonight and take a look at the results tomorrow.
Jamar Taylor replaced Williams.
Cornerback Jason Verrett briefly left the game with a hand injury but quickly returned. Wide receiver Dante Pettis suffered a knee injury but also returned.
Shanahan also said he wasn't sure about quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo's status for Week 5. The coach is hopeful Garoppolo will be available for Wednesday's practice.
