"I just wanted him to know that we're always thinking about him, and he's always on our minds," Hyder said after the game. "We're playing for him. I know he's watching us, and we wanted to make sure that he saw that we were playing hard and that we love him."
Hyder is one of the many defensive linemen who are stepping up to fill the void after both Bosa and Solomon Thomas (ACL) were lost for the season. Hyder got to Jones once while Dion Jordan brought down the quarterback, too.
The 49ers worked hard while remaining on the East Coast this past week between their two games at MetLife Stadium.
"I feel like, as a group, we always prepare well," Hyder said. "Coach does a great job preparing everyone like they're going to start, so nothing really changed in our preparation. We attack each day, and we try to get better each day. We feel like if we have good practices during the week, that it will carry over to the game."
The 49ers will return to the West Coast to begin preparing for their Week 4 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles and hope their win streak, now at two games, continues.
