The MRI truck that was scheduled to meet the team at The Greenbrier in West Virginia broke down last night. The 49ers had to send their injured players to a local hospital to undergo tests.
The results on both Bosa and defensive lineman Solomon Thomas were not yet available when head coach Kyle Shanahan spoke with reporters on Monday afternoon. Nothing official has been reported regarding Thomas' MRI results.
Bosa, 22, left Sunday's game after going down in pain during the first quarter. He was in obvious pain before being carted to the locker room. Bosa was quickly ruled "out" for the remainder of the game.
Shanahan was asked on Monday what the team can do to make up for the loss of Bosa.
"You can't do it with one guy. Everyone's got to step it up," Shanahan responded. "Everyone knows how great of a player Nick is. Teams do go through this. ... Yeah, when you lose a great guy like that, it's tough. But, you can look in our rooms and stuff and know that we've still got a lot of guys out there who can go play good football and give us a chance to win every game that we show up for."
The 49ers made Bosa the No. 2 overall pick last year. He racked up 42 tackles, nine regular-season sacks during his rookie campaign and added four more postseason sacks on his way to being named the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year.
Bosa had six tackles and a quarterback hit through two games this season, according to Pro Football Reference. He recorded five pressures this season and owned the defense's highest overall grade of 84.9, according to Pro Football Focus.
