The 49ers signed Sanu this past week, but he wasn't able to join his new teammates until Friday due to COVID-19 protocols. He was suited up and available during Sunday's game but did not have a catch.
Rookie receiver Brandon Aiyuk is among the young receivers who will benefit from Sanu's presence. Aiyuk was asked about what he has learned from the veteran during their few days together.
"He's offered so much," Aiyuk said. "Just for the couple of days we've been with him, he's talked to us a lot. I've talked to him a lot. We've talked about what I can expect out there in my first [game]. He's just always there just in your corner, just keeping you up if you have bad plays, if you have good plays, and things that might go unexpected.
"He's just always there to pick you up for the bad plays, congratulate you on the good plays, and just give you advice and keep giving you information throughout the practice, throughout the game, or through meetings; as much information as he can give us.
Aiyuk finished the game with two catches for 21 yards on three targets. San Francisco won the game, its first of back-to-back matchups at MetLife stadium, 31-13.
Added Aiyuk: "It's been great to have [Sanu] these last couple of days, and (I will) continue to just try to learn and get as much information as possible form him."
