It sure sounds like Kittle is happy to have an opportunity to line up next to the seven-time Pro Bowler.
"Hey Rich, I'll tell you this: I don't have to play very well, and when we play next to each other, it's still going to look really good," Kittle told Eisen. "That's pretty fun to see.
"You'll work on your double teams — like doubling a defensive end up to a linebacker — I don't know if he needs me to block both of them. That's what's so cool. I feel like I'm just the icing on top when it comes to any time I block with him. It's really cool."
Williams replaces the retired Joe Staley and will anchor the offensive line on the opposite side of Mike McGlinchey. San Francisco traded for Williams in April, a move that Eisen described as "lost in the draft shuffle."
All indications from training camp are that Williams is as good as advertised, and will be a factor during the upcoming season.
"He makes my job easy, and he's incredibly fast," Kittle continued. "He's just fun to be in the huddle with too. I just appreciate his knowledge, and just how much the game means to him. You can just see it every single time he steps on the field.
"So, he's done great in our locker room, and I know it's going to be really fun to play with him all year."
