The Ravens may try to trade Thomas, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. That, however, could be difficult given the size of his contract, and so much uncertainty with future salary caps. Rapoport calls a release "more likely."
While most expect the Dallas Cowboys to be in the mix for Thomas' services, should the safety become available, Rapoport also names two other teams to keep an eye on — the San Francisco 49ers and the Houston Texans.
Thomas, 31, is a seven-time Pro Bowl selection and three-time first-team All-Pro. He is entering his 11th NFL season.
The Seattle Seahawks drafted Thomas out of Texas with the No. 14 overall pick in 2010. He registered 49 tackles, two sacks, four passes defensed, two interceptions, and a forced fumble through 15 games last year during his one season with the Ravens.
Update: The Ravens are releasing Thomas, leaving him free to sign with any team.
