The San Francisco 49ers are signing former Syracuse defender Evan Foster, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.


Foster (6-0, 215), a defensive back in college, played four seasons and was a three-year starter with Syracuse. He racked up 224 tackles, three sacks, two interceptions, 11 passes defensed, a forced fumble, and three fumble recoveries in his final three seasons (2017-19). Foster started 37 games during that span and appeared in 46 out of 49 contests during his four seasons.
