It was initially estimated that the second-year receiver would require 12-16 weeks of recovery time. Samuel, however, vowed to return in 10, and be ready for the start of the regular season.
The 49ers open the season against the Arizona Cardinals at Levi's Stadium on September 13.
"Surgery went perfect," Samuel told fans via Instagram after the surgery to repair the damage. "I'm telling you all, in 10 weeks, it'll be a better Deebo than you have seen. I'm telling you, legendary."
Samuel caught 57 receptions for 802 receiving yards and three touchdowns through 15 regular-season games in 2019. He added 10 receptions for 127 yards through three playoff games, including a five-catch, 39-receiving-yard performance against the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIV.
H/t to Patrick Tulini for the find.
